Vision & Mission

Our Vision

At VLC, our mission is to glorify God by equipping His people to change their world and by planting churches with the same world-changing vision.

We Plan To Accomplish This By

  • Helping God’s people discover their individual gifts and callings, creating an environment where these gifts and callings may be developed, and deploying the people to be salt and light in their world. Our Small Groups are designed to help accomplish this goal.
  • Helping God’s people build strong families and by creating a community where individuals may find fulfillment and expression regardless of age or marital status.
  • Planting churches with the same vision both domestically and abroad.

We do three things

Love God Love Each Other Love The World

Love God

We strive to provide inspiring worship experiences. We call them “experiences” because our goal is to passionately pursue the Presence of God and make much of His glory.

Love each other

We believe that the church of Jesus Christ is not a building or a location or even just a weekend experience. We believe that the church is people, and people were created to be in relationship. Our church engages in relationship and discipleship through our small group system.

Love the world

We believe that our job is to change the world. That is why we prioritize an aggressive outreach strategy.

What we believe

GodThere is one God who reveals Himself as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God in three Persons, the Holy Trinity. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19)
Jesus ChristJesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified, and arose after three days, providing atonement for man’s sin. (John 3:16, Matthew 1:18-20)
Holy SpiritThrough His present day ministry of imparting life-changing fruit, and empowering gifts, the Holy Spirit enables God’s people to lead lives pleasing to God and equips them to fulfill their God-given purpose . (Matthew 3:16; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1-4; Galatians 5:16-23; 1 Cor 12:1-11)
ScriptureThe Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It is relevant to modern society providing the sole authority for Godly living. (I Timothy 3:16)
SalvationAll people have sinned and fall short of God’s perfect standard. We receive forgivenss of sins and salvation only through faith in Jesus Christ and making Him Lord over our lives. (Romans 3:23, Psalm 103:3, Romans 10:8-10, Ephesians 2:8, Romans 5:20-21)
SacramentsWe observe the Lord’s Supper and Water Baptism by full immersion as a way to remember and acknowledge and identify with Christ’s sacrifice and provision for us. (Matthew 26:26-28; 28:19; Romans 6:4)
Return of ChristJesus Christ is coming back again in person to judge the living and dead. At that time, all who have died will be resurrected. Those who put their faith in Christ will be raised into everlasting life and those who rejected Christ to everlasting damnation. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; I Corinthians 15:51-52; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 20:10-15)
Local ChurchThe local church is the visible expression of the body of Christ—God’s spiritual family. Every member of God’s family is important and is gifted for a unique purpose. As a local church, we all work together to fulfill God’s will in the earth. Romans 12:3-8, I Corinthians 12:14-27, Ephesians 4:11-16)
